location, location, location
I've compiled a few of my favorite places for pictures. I love photographing in new and exciting places too, but these are my tried and true spots.
beachy and beautiful
kuliouou beach park
Kuliouou Beach Park has a wide stretch of shallow water. You can see Koko Head Crater and Hanauma Bay in the background. Located in Hawaii Kai, this location is about 15 minutes from Waikiki.
Lanikai beach
Lanikai Beach has a long stretch of beautiful white sand beach. This location is near Kailua and is best at sunrise and sunset.
Halona Beach cove
Halona Beach Cove is a stunning location. There is a small beach, with dramatic rocks surrounding the bay. The water is a beautiful turquoise color, and there is a lava tube cave as well. This location is about 25 minutes from Waikiki.
Kaloko Beach
Kaloko Beach has a great mix of sandy beach and rocky shores. With views of Koko Head Crater and Makapuu, this location offers a great mix of scenery. This location is near Sandy Beach on the south east side, and is about 30 minutes from Waikiki.
Kualoa Beach park
Kualoa Beach park has some incredible mountain backdrops next to the ocean. This location is near Kaneohe and about 45 minutes from Waikiki.
Ko Olina
Ko Olina is a beautiful beach location. With both stretches of sandy beach and rocky shores, there are plenty of options for photos. This location is about 40 minutes from Waikiki.
kahana Bay
Kahana Bay has beautiful backdrops in every direction. Lush greenery, mountains, and a long stretch of sandy beach are some of the highlights. Kahala Bay is about 50 minutes from Waikiki.
makapuu Beach
Makapuu Beach is a gorgeous location. There is a stretch of beach, with rocky tide pools and tall mountain backdrops. This location is about 30 minutes from Waikiki.
Waialae Beach park
Waialae Beach Park has a great stretch and ocean views as well as palm trees. There is plenty of shade and beautiful light. This location is best at sunset, but also pretty at sunrise.
This location is about 5 minutes from Waikiki.
tropical and lovely
tantalus
Tantalus Drive is a beautiful, lush, green backdrop for photos. The State Park has a great lookout with panoramic views and plenty of shade options. There are also tall pine trees and a rope swing. This location is about 10-15 minutes from Waikiki.
Ho'omaluhia botanical garden
Ho'omaluhia Botanical Garden has some incredible mountain backdrops and so much lush greenery. This location is near Kaneohe and about 30 minutes from Waikiki.
wa'ahila ridge
Wa'ahila Ridge has beautiful pine trees as well as lush greenery. There is plenty of shade and beautiful light . This location is about 10-15 minutes from Waikiki.

Kaka'ako
Kakaako is a vibrant and colorful location. Surrounded by blocks of murals, this location will give you a little different view of Oahu. Kakaako is about 5 minutes from Waikiki.
